Last week, our beloved External Affairs Director, Bernadette Anne Buensuceso participated in the ASEAN Youth Organisation Academy’s Weekend Camp on International Relations and Sustainable Development Goals. The Academy Outreach Weekend Camp was held virtually on 17th and 18th June 2023 by ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) Academy, consisting of interactive discussion sessions and workshops on topics related to regional developments, social issues, and the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in ASEAN countries.
As the panelist of the 2nd day of the Weekend Camp, Bernadette had presented her perspectives as a young sustainability expert on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Sustainable Developments in ASEAN, as well as introduced Youth for Energy Southeast Asia as a youth-run organisation in the energy sector of Southeast Asia to the virtual participants and received tremendous attention and support.
The main purposes of the Weekend Camp are to raise the awareness of ASEAN Youth on sustainable development, provide an opportunity for ASEAN Youths to learn about meaningful youth participation and engagement through the speaker’s expertise, ideas, and best practices, and encourage ASEAN youth to participate and engage in ASEAN and Southeast Asia’s SDG related activities as well as opportunity for further initiatives.
